Body Combat

In a bid to get fit in February 2015 I took part in my first ever Les Mills Body Combat class and I haven’t looked back since.  It is a high energy martial arts inspired workout with a combination of Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay, Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu moves to get your fighting fit!  It is a great way to relieve stress and get fit while having fun and making friends.

The key moves you’ll learn are a jab, cross, hook, upper cut, front /back kick, roundhouse kick and side kick amongst may others during the choreographed class.  Les Mills release a new routine every 3 months however, most instructions change the routine at around 6-8 weeks by either doing old releases or mixing them around a little to keep you on your toes.

If you’re thinking of joining a class just remember the first class is always the hardest and it will take between 2-3 classes to get into the swing of things.  You will properly ache like crazy the next day but it’s a good and rewarding pain!
